Route 2 Concord Rotary Reconstruction Project

Welcome to this website for the Massachusetts Highway Department's Route 2 Concord Rotary Reconstruction Project.

The Route 2 Concord Rotary is a challenge to navigate during morning and evening rush hours for commuters and residents. Drivers often use residential streets in the area to avoid back-ups at the rotary, increasing traffic and reducing safety on local streets. MassHighway is planning to replace the rotary and create a typical overpass to make it operate safely and much more efficiently, while minimizing environmental impacts. MassHighway is also exploring opportunities to improve neighborhood connections, incorporate the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and wildlife corridors, improve water and air quality and enhance the aesthetics of the project area in its design, to the extent possible.

This website provides information about the reconstruction project and related issues. Citizens of Concord and surrounding communities who live with and use the rotary can find updates on the design and review process here. About the Project presents an overview of the plan and the schedule and introduces the team. Detailed information about meetings and updates is located in Events & News. Current and background documents and links to other websites and information are under Resources. If you would like more information, want to submit a comment or question or to be added to our email or U.S. Mail distribution lists, please visit the Contact Us page.

MassHighway values your input. Please participate in the public workshops and visit this website for updates on the design process and workshop notices. We appreciate your interest and look forward to your participation in this important project. Thank you!
